Legal Restrictions
AggreLend operates a global, permissionless protocol on Solana. At the same time, our hosted web interface must comply with international sanctions and local laws. This page explains where the website is restricted, how that differs from the on-chain protocol, and what users should know before interacting.
Prohibited Jurisdictions (Website Access)
Due to international sanctions regimes—including, without limitation, OFAC regulations under the U.S. IEEPA (1977) and equivalent frameworks in the European Union and other jurisdictions—access to the official AggreLend web interface (app.aggrelend.com) is restricted in the following locations:
- Iran
- Cuba
- North Korea (Democratic People’s Republic of Korea)
- Syria
- Russia
- Belarus
- Crimea region of Ukraine
- Donetsk People’s Republic (DNR) and Luhansk People’s Republic (LNR)
Users located in these jurisdictions are prohibited from accessing or interacting with app.aggrelend.com.
Geo-restrictions apply to the hosted website only. They do not turn the protocol into a gated or custodial service; they are legal controls on our web property.
Decentralization, Preserved
AggreLend’s smart contracts are decentralized, and permissionless. The protocol does not rely on our website to function and cannot selectively block specific wallets at the contract layer. If the interface is unavailable to you due to local restrictions or outages, the protocol remains accessible through other means, including:
- Custom-built frontends
- On-chain transaction builders
- JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, CLI tools, or other environments that speak Anchor/Solana
- RPC nodes, explorers, and direct program invocations
The AggreLend team does not control, cannot monitor, and is not responsible for any interactions with the protocol via alternative, non-official tools. This separation keeps the decentralization of the core protocol intact while allowing the hosted site to comply with applicable laws.
Think of app.aggrelend.com as one convenient window into the protocol—not the protocol itself. The on-chain programs remain available to anyone capable of sending valid Solana transactions.
User Responsibilities
By using the official interface, you confirm that:
- You are not located in a jurisdiction subject to comprehensive sanctions listed above.
- You comply with all applicable laws and regulations in your location.
- You will not use technical workarounds to access the site from a prohibited jurisdiction.
What This Means in Practice
- The website may deny access based on IP, location signals, and other compliance controls.
- The protocol continues to exist independently on Solana; contracts do not “whitelist” or “blacklist” jurisdictions.
- If your region becomes subject to restrictions, your existing on-chain positions continue to live at the protocol layer. You can still interact programmatically or through third-party tools at your own initiative and risk.
FAQs
Is AggreLend censoring the blockchain?
No. Restrictions apply to our hosted site. The blockchain and AggreLend programs remain permissionless.
Can you stop third-party interfaces from integrating AggreLend?
No. The protocol is public. We neither authorize nor police third-party tools.
If I travel to a restricted region, what happens?
You may not be able to access app.aggrelend.com while physically present there. The protocol itself remains available through non-official means.
Does this affect my refundable rent or balances?
No. These are on-chain mechanics, independent of the website. Rent refunds on position close occur at the program level.
Bottom Line
- Compliance on the website.
- Permissionless access on-chain.
- Your responsibility to follow local laws.
This balance preserves decentralization while respecting real-world legal boundaries. If you have specific legal questions, consult counsel in your jurisdiction; this page is not legal advice.
